General information


Alamosaurus, which means "Alamo Lizard" was named by the palaeontologist Charles W. Gilmore in 1922. It was named after Alamo in San Antonio (Texas, USA)
Alamosaurus was a large plant-eating dinosaur living in North America at the end of the Cretaceous period.
