Alectrosaurus, which means "unmarried lizard" was named by the palaeontologist Charles W.Gilmore in 1933.
Alectrosaurus was a meat-eater dinosaur living in Mongolia and China during the Cretaceous period. It was one of the oldest known tyranosaurs.
