(Walters, 1996)

Avaceratops -described by Dodson, 1986 (Dodson, 1996). Dodson estimates, by comparing common bones between skeletons of Avaceratops and Brachyceratops, that this Ceratopsian is about 2.3m in length (Dodson, 1996). It has an highly distinctive parietal and a large robust squamosal. The parietal is very delicate and lacks fenestrae but thins where fenestrae might be expected (Dodson, 1996). Due to the size of the skeleton, it has been suggested that this specimen of Avaceratops is a juvenile, not an adult. However, this is yet to be resolved (Dodson, 1996).
