MICHAEL ROTHMAN
Mr Rothman is a professional illustrator with
special interests in tropical biology and paleontology. He has participated in
expeditions to central French Guiana and the Samoan archipelago. He prepared
illustrations of native flora and fauna for Drs. Scott Mori and Paul Cox based
on these expeditions.
Mr Rothman is well published. His works have appeared in the New York
Times Science section since 1987. In addition, he prepared the Permian,
Jurassic, Cretaceous, and Miocene group images for the introductory movie at the
Lila Acheson Wallace Hall of Mammals at the American Museum of Natural History
Illustrations for books include:
- The American Museum of Natural History's Book of Dinosaurs and other
Ancient Creatures by Joseph Wallace(1994)
- The Anatomy of Love By Dr. Helen Fisher (Australopithecus
afarensis)
- Inside the Amazing Amazon by Don Lessem
- Here is the Tropical Rain Forest by Madeleine Dunphy
- Natural History Magazine (various illustrations on Homo erectus)
