Zheng's boluoch
Boluochia zhengi
(Zhou 1995)
Boluochia zhengi is one of the few avian
predators of Liaoning, in Early Cretaceous China. Using its hooked beak
and powerful pedal talons, this bird easily dispatches such prey as Confuciusornis.
Thanks to Mickey Mortimer, who sent me his skeletal reconstruction of
Boluochia.
