Horner's Acheloo-Lizard
Achelousaurus horneri (Sampson, 1995)
Achelousaurus horneri is a large herbivore of late Cretaceous North America. This centrosaurine dinosaur possesses a large, flat horn boss over its nose, used during ceremonial battles in favor of the dangerous pointed horns of other ceratopsians. A similar boss adorns the head of related Pachyrhinosaurus canadensis.Other sites containing pertinent information:
