INFO Aepisaurus > A.elephantinus (Gervais, 1852) (Also known as Aepysaurus)

Aepisaurus means "elephantine high lizard".  Huene,1932 referred A.elephantinus based on a humerus from the French Aptian to the Titanosauridae because of some resemblance to the humerus of Laplatasaurus. (it had dermal plates, armor) Only a  humerus [MNHN 1868-242] was found, its of the slender type and does bear that resemblanche, but it also resembles that of Camarasaurus and some brachiosaurids. Its true family position must await future discoveries.
