Death Cry
Trapped, alone on a drying mudflat, a lone juvenile
sauropod,
Camarasaurus lentus, bellows its final calls as two fast and
agile juvenile Allosaurus sp. do most of
the dirty work for their family pack. Bringing up the rear are the slower
and more robust adult Allosaurus, who are ready to finish the job and
claim a majority of the spoils.
Only the passing rhamphorhynchoids,
Comodactylus ostromi, seem to hear the camarasaur's last
desperate calls. Image Copyright © 2005 Todd Marshall. All Rights
