Anodontosaurus Sternberg, 1929 (Bull. Canada Dept. Mines, Ottawa, 54, 28. NcZ) "toothless lizard"
an-o-DONT-o-SAWR-us (Gr. an- "not, without" + Gr. odont- (odous) "tooth" + Gr. sauros "lizard") (m) named to indicate the supposed "first toothless member of the Stegosauria to be recorded." Only the front of the jaws was actually toothless, however. [= Euoplocephalus Lambe, 1910]
