| Weight | 1-4 kg |
| Age | Late Cretaceous |
| Distribution | China, Mongolia |
Avimimus which means "bird mimic" was named by the palaeontologist
Sergei M. Kurzanov 1981. This small birdlike dinosaur lived in Asia during the
Late Cretaceous period.
It had large eyes, a toothless beak and long legs.
Because of its beak, it has been suggested that Avimimus was an
insect-eater. Avimimus may have had feathers, although some
palaeontologists don't agree with that.
