Camptosaurus found in North America and Europe is well described and resembles quite closely both Iguanodon and Ouranosaurus. The main differences are to be found in the head, hands, hips and feet. The head of Camptosaurus is long, and low compared to Iguanodon, and it lacks Ouranosaurus' bumps on the nose and its very broad muzzle.

The backbone has no tall spines. The forelimb differs slightly from that of Iguanodon in that the hand has a short spur-like first finger, rather than a distinct spike; also the claws on fingers two and three are more curved and less hoof-like.

However Camptosaurus does possess the large bony wrist to enable it to walk on all-fours. Its foot possesses four, well-developed toes, while there are only three in Iguanodon and Ouranosaurus.
