Caudipteryx, the Quintessential "Dino-Bird"
The three possible species of Caudipteryx from Liaoning, China include the
original, type species, C. zoui; a second named species, C. dongi; and a third, here C. sp. The last is restored from two specimens, one which
was referred to C. zoui (BMP 0001). There are skull differences
between C. sp. and C. zoui and limb differences between all three that
support their distinction. Image Copyright © 2005 Jaime Headden. All Rights
