Sueve Swan-Beak
Cycnorhamphus suevicus
(Seeley, 1870)
Like most pterosaurs, Cynorhamphus
suevicus is a fish-eater. However, while most other pterosaurs hunt
fish on the wing, diving into the water after their prey, C. suevicus
is a wader. Elbow-deep in water this pterosaur uses its keen eyesight to
find fish, which it then scoops up with either its long, toothed beak, or with
its long fingers.
